The Internship and Workforce Services office on West Campus is hosting the “Get Prepared, Get Hired” workshops on Tuesday, October 2 at 12:00pm to 2:00pm and on Wednesday October 3 at 12:00pm to 2:00pm in Building 11 room 106.

“We want to prepare our students for the employers that are coming,” Jessica Camilo, Coordinator of Internship and Workforce Services said. “We want to help them with their presentation skills, the proper attire to wear at a job fair and how to work the room, meaning going to meet different recruiters and asking important questions.”

Students are going to be able to learn skills such as time management and organization, as well as different approaches on getting prepared for a job interview. These workshops happen every term. “We work closely with employers identifying what are some things they’re searching for in our students and how we can get our students ready to go into the workforce,” said Camilo.

In addition to the workshops, the Internship and Workforce Services office is holding the “Internship & Part-Time Job Fair” on Thursday, October 4 at 10:00am to 2:00pm in Building 8 – Special Events Center.

“We want to prepare our students for the employers that are coming. We want to help them with their presentation skills, the proper attire to wear at a job fair and how to work the room, meaning going to meet different recruiters and asking important questions.”

“We’ve partnered with about 43 companies such as Duke Energy, Give Kids the World, City of Orlando, Sherwin Williams and Nike that are looking to hire our students,” said Camilo. “This would help the students who are ready to graduate in the spring trying to get something in place.”

Students are expected to be professionally dressed or wearing semi-business casual attire for the events.

The highlight of this event will be “seeing students coming in wide-eyed ready to go and meet the employers and hearing the feedback from them,” says Camilo.
