Keneil Baker recorded his 23rd shutout for the Tars, putting him in the Rollins history books.

Keneil Baker recorded his first shutout of the season, helping Rollins mens soccer go to 4-0-0, while handing the Panthers of Florida Tech (2-1-0) their first loss Wednesday night in a 4-0 Tars win at Barker Family Stadium.

It was a very physical match from start to finish.

“From last year, we knew it was going to be physical, so we just came out and battled hard, and got the goals.” said Sophomore Tucker Hume.

The first half saw both teams create great scoring opportunities, with multiple corners and set pieces.

Hume got the scoring underway in the 31st minute, capitalizing off an errant pass by the Panthers.

After a tackle in the box, senior Rafa Faria put the Tars up 2-0 by freezing the goalie on a penalty kick in the 36th minute.

Both teams continued their intense play, with 6 yellow cards being dished out, amongst many fouls and warnings.

Rollins dominated the second half, controlling the time of possession. Brett Durrance, and Philipp Schad added second half goals to put the match out of reach.

The shutout marked the 23rd career clean sheet for Baker, making him Rollins’ all time leader.

The Tars will look to stay unbeaten as they travel to St. Petersburg this Saturday to take on Eckerd College, before coming back home Wednesday, Sept. 25 to take on St. Leo’s at Barker Family Stadium.
