EAST CAMPUS – The Communications and Creative Writing Scholarship Committee is extending its deadline for creative writing submissions. Originally, the application deadline was February 1ST. Now it will be pushed to the 15TH.

The extension allows more students to qualify for the $500 scholarship. The money could be used as early as this semester.

“My advice is to take what you have worked on in your creative writing classes, revising that, developing it further,” suggests Prof. Holly Elliott, creative writing Professor and the head of the scholarship program’s creative sector at East campus.

This scholarship is open to students enrolled on East or Winter Park campus. To enter you must have a 2.0 GPA, have taken a creative writing class, and must submit a five to six-page creative writing piece. Email your scholarship package to [email protected] before February 15.

“There’s a lot you can do with writing. It’s not just a career, it’s an element in any career you could be doing. Communicating, standing out, and being original,” said Prof. Elliott.
