Party with a Plan

Yes, we get it. Partying is one of the reasons why lots of students go to school here in America.

It helps strengthen social bonds, meet new people, and relax after stressful exams. What most of people don’t pay attention to though is that partying can also be a dangerous experience if you’re not prepared for the worst.

Valencia College has a plan. Come join national speaker Randy Haveson in “Party with a Plan,” an event taking place today and tonight, Sept. 29, on both east and west campuses. Haveson’s program is called “0-1 – 2-3”.

This program helps students on how to party safe and focusing on how to stay safe in a party atmosphere where there might be drinking and drugs.

“We are organizing this event because we are the Wellness Ambassadors. We work with the seven dimensions of wellness: emotional, physical, intellectual, social, environmental, spiritual, and career wellness. With this event, we want to educate and promote safety and health in parties” said Valencia College Wellness Ambassador Gabriela Da Rosa Masiero.

“We are hoping to target college students of all ages, especially those who participate in drinking alcohol at parties. Many students are ignorant to the fact that alcohol can be dangerous if taken in excessive amounts. With this event we hope to educate them on such matters” added Student Development member and event planner Sidney McIntosh.
