Orlando Predators wide receiver’s career comes full circle

Wide receiver Greg Carr was awarded the AFL Highlight of the Week on April 1, 2014.

Orlando Predators wide receiver Greg Carr never would have thought he would be coming back to play in Orlando after winning the Champs Sports Bowl with Florida State University back in 2008.
Carr led FSU in receiving for that game making 8 receptions for 78 yards and one touchdown.
“It all worked out for the best. It’s crazy how things things turn out sometimes, but it was a good time then at the Champs Sports Bowl, and I’m having a good time here now so hopefully we can keep making these good times roll.” said Carr about his career coming full circle and ending up in Orlando once again.
Playing his high school football career at North Marion High School in Citra, Florida, Carr was recruited to FSU where as a freshman he led the teams yards per reception with 20.6 yards and the teams receiving touchdowns with nine scores.
Upon graduation in 2008, Carr finished the season ranking fifth in the school’s reception and receiving yards list with 148 receptions for 2,574 yards. He ranked second in career touchdowns with 29 under his belt.
“Anytime that you can get that type of experience, being at a school like Florida State,” said Carr about carrying over his leadership qualities from FSU. “It was a learning process then and now I have learned from that and I’m able to understand what it takes to be a leader.
“Carrying myself a certain type of way and doing things that’s asked of me no matter what it is and going out there and giving it all you got every single play.”
Carr went undrafted in the 2009 NFL draft, but was later signed as a free agent to the San Diego Chargers.
After his stint in the NFL, Carr then moved to the Canadian Football League where he spent time with four different teams. During his career in the CFL he made 117 receptions for 1,664 yards and 11 touchdowns.
This current season, Carr was signed to the Predators as an AFL rookie, but quickly made a statement on his ability to play the game by leading the teams receiving corps in touchdowns.
This far in the season Carr has 31 receptions for 427 yards and 10 touchdowns.
